Critics often debate whether there is a truly “American” food. Anyone who has dined at The Church Brew Works would answer that argument with a resounding yes. Everything on the menu is a culmination of the great culinary traditions found throughout the United States. Chef Jason Marrone and Sous Chef Cory Burns have assembled a group of dishes which strike the balance between hearty and heavenly.

Our selective group of appetizers - or starters as we call them - get the meal going in the right direction. The Untraditional Pittsburgh Pierogies are an ever changing addition to The Church Brew Works menu. Whether it is the rattlesnake and cactus or the buffalo with chili there is always something different inside. If none of the starters pique the interest, the Seven Onion soup is a classic addition to any meal.

Bread and a house salad are served with all entrees with ala carte pricing. Topped with grains available from brewing beer, the Ciabatta bread is served with a basil-infused olive oil. The house salad is made with baby greens, plum tomatoes and comes with a variety of dressings - including our Celestial Gold dressing made from The Church Brew Works Celestial Gold beer.

The dinner entrees are a diverse collection of dishes sure to please every palate. From the Buffalo and Wild Mushroom Loaf to the Surf and Turf or even the Vegetarian Stir Fry, The Church Brew Works has something for everyone. The Church Brew Works entrees take “everyday” food and add an upscale flair to make the dining experience a truly unique one. The selections represent a merging of tradition and innovation of the culinary styles popular in the United States. Our dinner entrees start at $15.95.

If you are looking for something a little lighter in the evening, you can order from the “pub” menu. The pub menu, which starts at 4 p.m. with the dinner menu, is a selection of sandwiches and pizzas. One of The Church Brew Works best known and most loved items, the wood fired pizzas are second to none. From the hearth of our wood fired oven, these pizzas are baked to perfection with various Pennsylvania hardwoods. Whether it is the traditional pizza, exotic mushroom pizza or spinach and feta pizza, these gems are worth trying. Don’t forget to try the Pittsburgh Pierogie Pizza! It consists of potato puree, sautéed onions, garlic and cheddar.

The pub menu does not stop there. There is a variety of specialty sandwiches to enjoy in the evenings. The Chargrilled Buffalo Burger or Chargrilled Chicken are hearty additions to the pub menu. However, the Chargrilled Salmon and Vegetarian Wrap are generous enough to satisfy the appetite and light enough to keep you going. Sandwiches start at $5.95. Even though The Church Brew Works has wonderful dinners, our lunch menu is equal in taste and quality. Most of the dinner entrees are served for lunch in smaller portions. These entrees include Ciabatta bread. 

As with any great meal, a dessert can be the perfect ending. Make sure someone in your group tries our Signature malted Bread Pudding made served with a cinnamon infused reduced Pious Monk Dunkel sauce. Another specialty of The Church Brew Works is our handmade ice creams. The Church Brew Works is the only restaurant in the country to take the wort from the brewing process and boil it down into a molasses like syrup and make small batch Ice Cream. We have teamed with Pittsburgh’s own Dave & Andy’s Ice Cream to make such flavors as Cinnamon Snazz, Belltower Chocolate Ale, Pipe Organ Crunch, Golden Vanilla and a low fat Yogurt Delight. The joint venture in ice cream making brought the attention of USA TODAY who voted Dave & Andy’s the 5th best ice cream in the country. Our desserts are rich and wonderful. They are even good enough to come in and eat while just taking in the scenery. The selection changes a bit from week to week to incorporate different seasonal selections. However, The Double Chocolate Mousse Cake and Tiramasu are perennial favorites.
